Armenia cuts defense industry budget by 21 billion drams

The Armenian government will allocate over 150 billion drams for defense industry development under a new three-year contract program, according to Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

This amount is 21 billion drams less than the allocation under the previous three-year plan.

“The Ministry of Defense has already launched discussions with 30 companies regarding new three-year contracts,” Hayrapetyan wrote on Facebook.

He added that the first three-year program for 2023–2025, involving contracts worth more than 171 billion drams signed with 28 companies, had served as a cornerstone for developing Armenia’s defense industrial complex.
