Attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan has announced that the defense team has withdrawn its motion to change the pre-trial detention of archbishop Bagrat, who is currently in custody. The decision follows the postponement of the planned Synod
“Considering that the Synod scheduled for December 10–12 is being temporarily postponed, we submitted a motion to the court today to withdraw our request to change archbishop Bagrat’s preventive measure and asked to postpone the court session as well,” Khudoyan wrote on Facebook.
The next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
At the previous court session, the defense had requested a change in archbishop Bagrat’s preventive measure to allow him to attend the episcopal council. Judge Farkhоyan had postponed the review of that motion, originally scheduled for December 9.
