Secretary of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, said Armenian detainees held in Baku are subjected to torture.
In a Facebook post addressing the health condition of Armenian captives held in Baku, Abrahamyan wrote that “the detainees are also subjected to torture.”
“The health condition of 70-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, who is being illegally held in an Azerbaijani prison, has sharply deteriorated, and he has been transferred to a medical facility.
I would also like to remind that earlier, reliable information was received that the health condition of Vicken Euljeckjian, who is also held in Baku, is quite poor.
In addition to illegal trials in Azerbaijan and holding Armenians as hostages, they are also subjected to torture, at least through the failure to provide necessary urgent medical care and by not keeping them in appropriate conditions.
International organizations and actors that endlessly speak about peace, but in reality exploit the conflict for their own geopolitical interests, continue with their silence to give a green light to Azerbaijani crimes,” the post says.
After the International Committee of the Red Cross left Azerbaijan, no independent international structure or organization has visited Armenian detainees, and there is no reliable information about their health condition.
