Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has stated that peace with Azerbaijan is established, though the process is not yet fully complete. He made these remarks in an interview with Public Television.
Mirzoyan noted that while the two sides have resolved a significant number of issues, there is still no mutual understanding on some crucial topics that require further attention.
“There are important issues on which no agreement has been reached. We must continue the work,” he said.
He added that the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, agreed upon in March 2025 and ratified in August, does not need further amendments.
“What remains is to agree on the place and time of signing. So far, there is no agreement on that,” Mirzoyan said.
On August 8, a trilateral meeting took place at the White House between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. A joint declaration was signed, reflecting the outcome of the Washington talks.
During the same event, in the presence of the U.S., Armenian, and Azerbaijani leaders, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov initialed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
