Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan, head of the Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan, has labeled as fake a document recently published by Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) allegedly connected to him, according to GALA.
“It’s fake,” he said briefly in response to a question regarding the document.
Earlier, a pro-government media outlet had published a document it claimed was obtained from the NSS, alleging that Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan, the brother of the Catholicos of All Armenians, had been recruited by the Soviet KGB during the 1980s.
The document attributed to the Archbishop is written in Armenian and was declassified in 2001.
