Ruling party to vote on candidate ranking in February

The ruling Civil Contract party has finalized its preliminary list of candidates for the 2026 parliamentary elections, according to Arusyak Manavazyan, the party’s chief of staff, Pastinfo reports.

“We have reviewed and registered all candidates. The number of people on the list is now clear. As for public release, we haven’t made a final decision yet. That will be addressed at upcoming board meetings,” Manavazyan said.

Out of 380 applicants, 280 have been included on the election list. “Around 10 candidates have voluntarily withdrawn,” she noted.

Regarding how the final order of candidates will be determined, Manavazyan explained it will be set through a vote by party delegates. “Delegate voting will determine the ranking. We expect this process to take place in February,” she said.

Asked whether many non-party members are on the list, Manavazyan replied that while there are some, their number is small.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
