Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan hosted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi in Yerevan for Armenia–Iran political consultations.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to deepen Armenian-Iranian relations and reiterated their political agreement to elevate bilateral ties to a strategic level, reviewing relevant ongoing initiatives.
Mirzoyan stated, “Understandably, we attach great importance to our relations with neighboring and friendly Iran. For us, these are essentially strategic relations. It is no coincidence that President Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Pashinyan agreed that this year, our relationship will officially be elevated to the level of a strategic partnership.”
Mirzoyan and Takht-Ravanchi also discussed the unblocking of regional infrastructure. The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed that Armenia’s position is clear: infrastructure must be unblocked within the framework of fundamental principles. They also reviewed ongoing projects and the opportunities they present.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a briefing that Armenia intends to sign a strategic partnership agreement with Iran.
