Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Narek Mkrtchyan met MIT academic leader Anantha Chandrakasan during a working visit to Boston to discuss opportunities for cooperation with Armenia.
A key topic of the meeting was the prospect of cooperation on Armenia’s Academic City project. The sides discussed opportunities to involve MIT’s experience and expertise to contribute to the project’s development and implementation. MIT’s academic leader emphasized the importance of the Academic City initiative and expressed readiness to cooperate with the Armenian side.
Academic City is planned to be built by 2030. Zhanna Andreasyan has said that, as a result of implementing the education development program, four Armenian universities will rank among the top 500 in international ranking systems.
