The U.S. Embassy in Armenia, commenting on the opening of Firebird’s AI factory in Hrazdan, said the $4 billion investment means “advanced American technology is coming to Armenia.”
U.S. Chargé d’Affaires David Allen joined Prime Minister Pashinyan and Firebird executives in Hrazdan for the opening of Armenia’s leading hyperscale AI center.
“This $4 billion investment means advanced American technologies and AI infrastructure are coming to Armenia, enabling the country to position itself as a regional hub for data centers, cloud computing and AI innovation.
The opening of the AI center is a clear example of the growing U.S.-Armenia partnership and a practical step in advancing the agreements reached at the August 8 Washington Peace Summit and the three key U.S.-Armenia memoranda of understanding signed there, one of which concerned an innovation partnership in AI and semiconductors.
As Chargé d’Affaires Allen noted, when American and Armenian talent and innovation come together, new prospects emerge for economic growth, technological transformation and greater prosperity,” the statement said.
Firebird AI’s AI factory, one of the world’s largest AI infrastructures, has opened in Hrazdan.
It was previously announced that Firebird planned to launch a $500 million artificial intelligence data center in Hrazdan, which is expected to become the largest in the region. Following the launch of the project’s second phase, total investment is expected to reach about $5 billion. As a result, Armenia is expected to rank among the world’s top five countries in this field and become a global artificial intelligence hub.
