Armenian Center for Political Rights has launched a registry of people subjected to political persecution in Armenia, which will include individuals whose persecution has been assessed by the ACPR as political in nature.
According to the center, the registry was created as a tool for civic oversight. It enables the public, journalists and international organizations to obtain a comprehensive picture and demand accountability in cases where the legal system is used for political purposes.
“Today, Armenian Center for Political Rights presents two tools:
- A methodology for identifying political motives behind persecution, which helps determine, based on clear criteria, when persecution is political in nature.
- Registry — a documented list of people subjected to political persecution in Armenia.
The list is not yet complete, and the tool may be subject to changes. At present, it includes exclusively those individuals whose cases have already been examined and presented in previous ACPR publications.
ACPR continues to examine other cases of persecution, including in the contexts of the 2026 elections and the ongoing campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church,” Armenian Center for Political Rights said.
