A joint visit involving Armenian and U.S. officials has been organized to Syunik, where efforts to turn the vision of the TRIPP project into reality are continuing, according to the TRIPP Armenia Facebook page.
The Armenian side is represented by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the U.S. side includes U.S. Chargé d’Affaires David Allen and Dr. John Askonas, senior adviser for policy planning at the State Department.
They will meet representatives of local authorities and community residents to discuss how TRIPP can strengthen regional connectivity and create new opportunities while supporting Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The officials will also visit planned locations along the TRIPP route near Meghri.
In August 2025, Armenian, Azerbaijani and U.S. leaders Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Donald Trump formally reached an agreement in Washington on launching the Trump Route.
“The route will allow Azerbaijan to reach Nakhchivan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also establishing an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor. The term can be extended for up to 99 years, and they have promised that after 99 years it will be extended for another 99 years. We expect major infrastructure developments. American companies are eager to enter these countries and spend a lot of money, which will bring economic benefits to all three of our countries,” Trump said.
