Turkey says exports to Armenia reach $1.336 million

According to data published by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, TİM, Turkey’s exports in January-August 2026 increased by 4% compared with the same period last year, rising from $177.9 billion to $185 billion, Factor.am reported, citing Anadolu Agency.

According to the assembly, exports to Armenia reached $1.336 million over the eight-month period.

During the same period, the overall volume of exports to Turkey’s other neighboring countries — Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Greece — also increased. Turkish exports to these countries rose by 2.6%, from $17.762593 billion to $18.226225 billion.

It was followed by Bulgaria at $3.439040 billion, Greece at $2.293038 billion, Georgia at $1.949857 billion, Syria at $1.675429 billion, Iran at $1.566709 billion and Azerbaijan at $1.541916 billion.

Yerevan and Ankara issued a statement in December 2021 expressing readiness to take steps toward normalizing relations. In 2022, representatives of the two countries agreed in Vienna to open the border to citizens of third countries and begin direct air cargo transportation, but these agreements have yet to be implemented in practice.

In September 2025, Serdar Kılıç visited Armenia. Armenia’s Foreign Ministry said the sides discussed steps to implement the agreements reached on July 1, 2022, and agreed to accelerate the process.
