Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan outlined planned approaches to developing nursing during her address at the fourth International Nursing Congress.
She said nursing would undergo a fundamental rethink.
“Such events are important in highlighting the role of nurses and their mission in treating patients. These scientific and educational events will undoubtedly contribute to developing the skills and professional capabilities of our nurses,” Anahit Avanesyan said.
The minister also emphasized the importance of bachelor’s degree programs in nursing, expressing confidence that they would create new opportunities for professional development.
“The measures included in programs to be approved by the government will bring a fundamental rethink in nursing, ranging from changing its name to expanding nurses’ involvement in management. Professional growth will be accompanied by appropriate remuneration,” the minister said, wishing participants a productive international congress.
The two-day conference has provided Armenian nurses with a valuable opportunity to integrate into the international nursing community.
