Rubinyan highlights PACE election report conclusion

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan commented on the PACE election observation mission’s report on his Facebook page, highlighting what he called the report’s “most important conclusion regarding the elections held in Armenia.”

“Despite the shortcomings identified and external pressure of unprecedented scale, society demonstrated its democratic resilience. Thus, the newly elected authorities have received a clear mandate from the people, which they must now fulfill with honor,” he quoted.

Following the published quote, Rubinyan added: “We will fulfill it.”

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which observed Armenia’s parliamentary elections, said in its recently published final report that the Central Electoral Commission’s “annulment of polling station results without sufficient justification and its decision not to order repeat voting” were a matter of concern.
