Armenia is seeking to develop new areas of cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan said during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and head of the Swiss Confederation’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis, Armenpress reports.
“Taking into account the peace established in the South Caucasus, Armenia’s previous perceptions of the OSCE and expectations of the organization have changed. We are considering how to develop new areas of cooperation with the OSCE. I briefed Mr. Cassis on the latest developments concerning the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the emerging cooperation between the two countries. We also exchanged views on expanding cooperation within the OSCE’s economic and environmental dimension. It is noteworthy that this meeting is taking place on the eve of the official opening of COP17,” Ararat Mirzoyan said.
Addressing the agenda of bilateral relations between Armenia and Switzerland, Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of Switzerland’s continued support for Armenia. The minister highlighted ongoing initiatives in forest restoration, addressing challenges related to climate change and reforming democratic institutions, all of which continue to receive Swiss assistance.
