Gevorg Parsyan announces bid in November Kapan elections

Incumbent Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan has announced that he will participate in the community’s municipal council elections scheduled for November 29. He made the announcement in a post on his Facebook page.

He will head the electoral list of the nationalist Shant Alliance party.

“I, Gevorg Parsyan, have decided to participate in the Kapan community council elections to be held on November 29.

“Remaining faithful to our principles and values, I will lead the electoral list of the nationalist Shant Alliance party in the elections for local self-government bodies, which will be held under the proportional representation system.

“This candidacy is not an end in itself, but a decision driven by the need to ensure the continuity of projects already implemented, complete what we have started and prevent any interruption to the current pace of development.

“Thanks to the experience and knowledge gained during these difficult but productive years, I have a clear understanding of how to address the Kapan community’s priority challenges, its development opportunities and prospects. I have a realistic vision for the future and know which direction we should take and what steps are needed to move forward.

“The trust of my fellow citizens is a great responsibility for me, one that I have consciously undertaken and, as always, am ready to justify through consistent daily work, visible achievements and tangible results,” the post reads.

Regular local self-government elections are being held in 46 Armenian communities in the autumn of 2026, with elections in 21 of them scheduled for November 29.
