Armenia’s budget bill for 2005 provides for spending on issuing newspapers of the Georgian and Ukrainian communities of Armenia – Vrastan (Georgia) and Dnipru. A special item for financing translated literature is also provided for. A small number of Georgians – some 1000 people – reside in Armenia. These are mainly women, who had married Armenian men. However, the Georgian community of Armenia is rather active.
