KOCHARIAN: ARMENIAN AND AZERI PRESIDENTS TO MEET IN KAZAN AUGUST 26

The recurrent meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held August 26 during the unofficial Summit of CIS Leaders in Kazan, Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated in Moscow in the course of a meeting with Armenian students, who study at Moscow higher education institutions. At that he added he was not too much optimistic over the final outcome of the meeting. «Our positions differ considerably. We consider that there is no way back to the previous status of Nagorno Karabakh,» R. Kocharian noted. Speaking of the Armenian-Turkish relations, R. Kocharian reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to establish relations without preconditions. At that he called the conditions put by Turkey over renunciation of Nagorno Karabakh and international recognition of the Armenian Genocide unacceptable.
