RAZDAN THERMOELECTRIC POWER STATION TO BECOME PROPERTY OF RUSSIA IN SEPTEMBER

The Razdan TPS will pass into the ownership of Russia in September against the state debt of Armenia toward Russia. As general director of the station Albert Baghdasarian told “Arminfo” agency, the station will be passed to the Russian ministry of state property and then to one of the companies, which will undertake the administration. “UES” Russian joint stock company appears the most likely candidate in the financial administration of which Armenian Nuclear Power Plant will be as well passed. Albert Baghdasarian added that after Razdan TPS passing into the ownership of Russia, the price of the energy generated by the station may become lower due to the reduction of prices for gas. To date Razdan TPS is the biggest consumer of gas in Armenia and is generating the most expensive electricity at the prime cost. The Armenian leadership announced earlier, that passing of the Razdan TPS to Russia will enable Armenia to export electrical power to Turkey and other countries of the region.
