EUROPE SPEAKING AGAINST MILITARY ALLIANCES CREATION IN CAUCASUS AND ITS MILITARY POTENTIAL INCREASE

Understanding that the Caucasus is the part of the Eastern Europe the European Union tries to make this region the participant of the European processes. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, expert for the Caucasus and Middle Asia, Bonn University professor Eva-Maria Such told in her interview to “Deutsche Welle” newspaper. At the same time she emphasized that Europe speaks against the creation of “military alliances” in this region and increase of its military potential. The expert pointed out the importance of the factor of the Azeri national minority in Iran, which according to different calculations comes to 18 million people. Azerbaijan, hardly managing to avoid confrontation with Iran, through the “mediation” of the Americans can easily become the participant of the struggle against the “axis of evil”, the consequences of this war for Azerbaijan being hard to be foreseen, the European expert noted.
