Mikheil Saakashvili does not have moral right to rebuke Armenia

Prior to rebuke Armenia, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has to pay attention to the fact that during his presidency there was neither economic nor social progress observed in Georgia,” Haykazun Alvrtsyan, director of Western Armenians’ Studies Center, told PanARMENIAN.Net.

“Mikheil Saakashvili does not have any moral right to rebuke Armenia and recommend us to be friends with Russia or not. He has to think over the fact that Georgia and its army are totally dependent on Western financing,” Armenian expert noted.

In an interview with Newsweek, Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili said, “If I compromise with Russia, we will be like Kyrgyzstan loosing our democratic values, or as poor as Armenia, since Armenian economy is dependent on Russia.”

According to Alvrtsyan, Saakashvili’s statement signals that Tbilisi will not review its policy towards Russia. “Besides, Georgian president want to convince society that cooperation with Russian will not have any positive result. “Georgia sees that Armenia is maintaining balanced foreign policy towards EU, U.S. and Russia. To follow Armenia’s example, Saakashvili must solve some domestic problems,” he said.

“Due to unbalanced behavior of Georgian leader, the West came across a serious problem. To realize its goals, the West needs a stable Georgia, but today there is no such person who can ensure this stability,” he said.
