Gagik Tsaroukyan invests his best efforts in the development of sports in NKR

National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chairman Gaguik Tsaroukyan’s visit to NKR aroused “discontent” in Azerbaijan. When asked about Mr. Tsaroukyan’s reaction to such attitude, his Spokesman Khachik Galstayan , NOC Vice Chair, said that Tsaroukyan believes in NKR’s future and invests his best efforts in the development of Armenians in Artsakh.

During parliamentary discussions over Armenian-Turkish ties and Kharabakh issue, Mr. Tsaroukyan announced that he believed in admissibility of making any concession with regard to NKR.

Commenting upon Gagik Tsaroukyan’s visit to Stepanakert, Azerbaijan’s NOC Chairman Khazar Isaev announced, “I don’t understand how Tsaroukyan paid an official visit to Stepanakert to conduct talks on the construction of a sports school for future Armenian Olympic champions. This does not in any way correspond to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s statements on Armenia’s having no relationship to NKR. This is pure chauvinism.”

Early in April, the delegation headed by NOC Chairman and leader of “Prosperous Armenia” party Gagik Tsaroukyan signed an agreement on the construction of a new sports school. “The school will become a smithy for our future Olympic athletes,” Mr. Tysaroukyan said during his visit to NKR capital.
