Azeri political scientist Vafa Guluzade doesn’t think that Russia will change its policy in the South Caucasus.
“Russia needs tensions to prevent delivery of gas from Central Asia to Europe bypassing its territory. Moreover, it dreams of causing a new clash between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We should not yield to provocation. Islam teaches us to be patient and wait for the hour of triumph to come,” he said.
“However, we should develop diplomatic activities. We should strengthen ties with Turkey, Israel, Pakistan and NATO and build an efficient army to enable it at the right time. Waging a war would be incorrect now,” Guluzade said.
