Azerbaijan irritated by Armenian-Iranian relations

The World Congress of Azerbaijanis and Civil Solidarity Party held a protest action at the Iranian Embassy in Baku.

Irritated by neighborly relations between Armenia and Iran, the protesters carried portraits of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and shouted that “Iran’s brotherhood with Armenia goes contrary to Islamic values.”

A statement demanding “to release Azerbaijanis arrested in Iran, cut ties with Armenia and put an and to anti-Azerbaijani propaganda in Iranian media” was submitted to the Embassy.
