France attaches major importance to the role of Armenia in provision of stability in Caucasus, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner emphasized in his statement read out by French Ambassador to Armenia Serge Smessov at Armenia-France decentralized cooperation forum in Yerevan.
In his statement, French Foreign Minister expressed a wish for establishment of well-defined dialogue between Armenia and Turkey, and settlement of Karabakh conflict in accordance with Madrid principles to provide security in Caucasus.
In conclusion, the Foreign Minister stressed the importance of Armenian Diaspora in France in establishment of closer ties between the countries.
