The United States has doubled the financial commitment to the TRIPP+ Enterprise Fund, increasing it from $201 million to $402 million.
The updated figures were published in the U.S. government’s official spending database. According to the information, Armenia is the primary location for the use of the allocated funds, Armenpress reported.
The published data state that the funding is linked to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) connectivity initiative, which envisages the development of a transport corridor through southern Armenia to connect the South Caucasus with the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.
According to official records, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs awarded a $201 million grant to the TRIPP+ Enterprise Fund on January 30, 2026, with the grant set to remain in effect through December 31, 2036. An amendment made to the grant terms on July 16 increased the U.S. funding commitment to $402 million without changing the project’s completion date.
The TRIPP+ Enterprise Fund was established on January 26, 2026, two weeks after a meeting in Washington between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Following that meeting, the two sides released a document outlining plans to establish the TRIPP Development Company, which is intended to oversee the development and implementation of infrastructure for the TRIPP route through southern Armenia. Under the plan, Armenia would hold a 26% stake in the company, while the remaining 74% would belong to the United States.
The TRIPP+ Enterprise Fund and the TRIPP Development Company are separate entities. The latter is intended to develop and implement the infrastructure project running through southern Armenia.
The TRIPP Development Company will operate under the auspices of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
Unlike the development company, the TRIPP+ Enterprise Fund was created as a separate investment fund. Businessman Konstantin Sokolov has been appointed as its head. According to the source, the fund is also listed in the official registry of companies incorporated in Delaware under the name Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund.
The increase in U.S. funding comes as Washington seeks to expand its involvement in developing transport and economic links in the South Caucasus and promoting projects connecting the region with the Trans-Caspian corridor.
According to the initiative’s authors, implementation of the TRIPP route could have a significant impact not only on regional trade and logistics but also on the strategic environment of the South Caucasus.
