Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Aryeh Lightstone, Senior Adviser to the U.S. Special Envoy for Peace Missions. The meeting was also attended by Konstantin Sokolov, President of the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Foundation.
The sides reviewed ongoing efforts to implement the TRIPP program and emphasized their shared interest in launching the project on the ground as quickly as possible. They also exchanged views on Armenia’s prospects for more effective integration into international transport and infrastructure networks.
Both sides highlighted the significant developments and achievements recorded since the Washington Peace Summit of August 8, 2025. Stressing the importance of the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan for unlocking the region’s development potential, the interlocutors also discussed possible steps to further strengthen peace.
The participants welcomed the recent momentum in high-level reciprocal visits and the implementation of agreements, noting tangible progress in developing the Armenia–U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They emphasized that these achievements are also the result of implementing the three memorandums signed in Washington exactly one year ago, on August 8. Among a number of initiatives, they highlighted rapidly expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and the launch of the data center (AI Factory) being built as part of the first phase of Firebird AI’s flagship project.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Aryeh Lightstone also discussed opportunities and plans to expand trade and economic cooperation and strengthen Armenia’s economic and energy resilience.
The meeting included detailed discussions on promoting regional connectivity and leveraging the competitive advantages available in that process.
The interlocutors also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
Konstantin Sokolov was recently appointed by the U.S. Department of State to head the TRIPP+ trade foundation for the Trump Route passing through Armenia. He has also become the new owner of the Teghut copper-molybdenum mine.
Before joining TRIPP, Sokolov was already known in Armenia as a co-owner of the telecommunications operator Viva Armenia. In 2024, he acquired a 20 percent stake in the company.
