Armenia has selected Malta-registered Random Systems International Limited as the operator responsible for regulating the country’s gaming sector. The company also operates in neighboring Georgia.
The decision was approved at the Armenian government’s August 6 meeting, according to Aysor.am.
Presenting the draft decision, Acting Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard Hakobyan said that a series of reforms had been introduced under the 2024 Law on the Regulation of Gaming Activities, including the establishment of new oversight mechanisms based on a public-private partnership model.
According to Hakobyan, following the adoption of the law, a tender was held in which three foreign companies submitted bids.
“As a result of the tender, Random Systems International Limited was selected as the winner. The company has the necessary experience and performs similar functions in neighboring Georgia as the operator responsible for regulating gaming activities,” Hakobyan said.
He stressed that the State Revenue Committee aims to work with the company to establish modern and efficient digital mechanisms and oversight tools.
Hakobyan also said that the selected company will be required to fully implement the electronic management system within six months after the decision enters into force.
