Rossotrudnichestvo will open two new partner Russian Houses in Armenia, in Artashat and Ashtarak.
Rossotrudnichestvo head Igor Chaika signed agreements on Sept. 8 at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation to open 11 new partner Russian Houses, Reporters said.
Until now, the network had comprised 25 partner Russian Houses operating in 22 countries. With the signing of the new agreements, the network expanded by nearly half in a single day. The new platforms will begin operating in Armenia, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, Mali, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Thailand and Togo.
“We are not only opening new partner Russian Houses, but also substantially changing the program itself. We are increasing the intensity of the work and the level of oversight and, most importantly, introducing a quality assessment system. We expect greater engagement from our partners and concrete results in promoting the Russian language, Russian education, science and culture, and in implementing historical, youth, humanitarian and other projects,” Chaika said.
Particular attention has been given to Africa, where eight of the 11 new platforms will open.
Rossotrudnichestvo said it had received numerous proposals from various countries to open partner Russian Houses. In recent months alone, such initiatives were discussed during meetings with representatives of Bahrain, Yemen and Oman.
