President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Armenia to participate in the COP17 Leaders’ Summit being held in Yerevan, the Armenian government reported.
He was welcomed at Zvartnots International Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow has also arrived in Yerevan. He will likewise attend the COP17 Leaders’ Summit scheduled for October 16 in the Armenian capital.
Serdar Berdimuhamedow was received at Zvartnots International Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) is scheduled to take place in Yerevan from October 19 to 30, 2026. Around 15,000 people are expected to travel to Armenia for the international event. High-ranking representatives from 190 countries are also expected to participate in the conference’s activities. The Meridian Expo Center has been selected as the venue for the event.
