Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ararat Mirzoyan, has described Armenian-Russian relations as brotherly. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of COP17.
“I consider Armenia-Russia relations brotherly, the discussions constructive and the problems resolvable,” he said, Panorama.am reported.
He noted that he considers discussions at all levels of which he is aware to be constructive.
Regarding a possible meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the minister said that, according to his information, the dates are being discussed.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has stated that Armenia must decide by December this year whether to hold a nationwide referendum on joining the European Union or remaining in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
“It is clear that if the call to hold a referendum goes unheeded by then, the leaders will take that fact into account when determining their subsequent joint steps,” he noted.
