Latvia has blocked a tea shipment from Armenia following the detection of pesticide residues prohibited in the European Union (EU). Local media outlets reported the development, citing Latvia’s Food and Veterinary Service.
According to published reports, a 57.6-kilogram batch of green tea presented as originating from Armenia, bearing identification number “8810,” underwent laboratory testing, Panorama.am reports.
Armenia’s Food Safety Inspection Body stated that, according to information provided by its Border Control Department, the tea was not of Armenian origin.
