Armenia may extend 20% pension cashback program through 2029

A draft government decision submitted for public discussion proposes extending the 20% cashback program for cashless transactions made using pension and benefit bank cards from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029, inclusive.

The cashback would remain capped at 10,000 Armenian drams, according to the Ministry of Labor and Welfare.

The proposal would preserve the existing mechanisms for calculating and paying cashback, as established under the current regulations.

According to figures for October, 572,590 pensioners and benefit recipients have already used the 20% cashback program. The average cashback amount has reached 8,150 drams.

Cashback is calculated and transferred automatically when payment cards are used for transactions through POS terminals at retail outlets and service providers operating within Armenia.
