The government has decided to extend the deadlines for issuing housing purchase certificates to orphanage graduates, allowing approximately 20 beneficiaries to exercise their right to housing assistance.
The amendment applies both to individuals who have already received housing purchase certificates but have not yet completed the necessary procedures and to beneficiaries who applied for state assistance after the established deadline.
According to the justification accompanying the decision, the state budget allocated 1.9 billion drams under the housing assistance program for orphanage graduates to provide housing purchase certificates to approximately 300 people. However, only 289 beneficiaries have so far qualified to receive certificates. Of these, eight have not appeared at Armenia’s Ministry of Labor and Welfare to sign the relevant agreements.
Another 10 orphanage graduates and residents have received housing purchase certificates but have not yet completed the required procedures. At the same time, some orphanage graduates and residents applied for assistance after the deadline established by the government decision, which was July 1, 2022. As a result, their applications were rejected, affecting three beneficiaries.
