Armenia, Netherlands discuss strategic partnership and economic ties

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Dutch counterpart Tom Berendsen discussed steps to advance the strategic partnership between their countries, with a focus on expanding economic cooperation.

The ministers held a one-on-one meeting in Yerevan, followed by talks involving delegations from both countries, according to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.

The sides discussed measures envisaged under the joint declaration on strategic partnership signed by Armenia and the Netherlands in March 2025, Armenpress reports.

Speaking at a joint press conference, Mirzoyan said political dialogue between the two countries was active and productive, while economic ties were also developing.

“We also see economic cooperation advancing step by step, with the figures increasing, but we recognize that considerable untapped potential remains,” Mirzoyan said.

He identified agriculture, floriculture, healthcare and infrastructure as areas with potential for further cooperation, pointing in particular to ties between Armenian flower producers and Dutch companies in the sector.
