Papoyan confirms foil and flower exports to Azerbaijan

Armenia has exported foil and flowers to Azerbaijan, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said in the National Assembly, responding to a question from opposition MP Artur Khachatryan of the Armenia faction.

“If I’m not mistaken, foil and flowers,” Papoyan said, Panorama.am reports.

The exchange also addressed the government’s plans to reopen regional transport links.

Khachatryan said the opposition did not object to reopening transport routes but questioned the proposed arrangements, describing them as a “pan-Turkic corridor.”

“We are not opposed to unblocking. What you are trying to present as unblocking is a pan-Turkic corridor, because if there are no terms specifying how we can use it in either direction, that means it is not unblocking,” he said.

Responding to the criticism, Papoyan stressed the importance of transport connections and protecting Armenia’s interests.

“When you have a road, it is a lifeline. It doesn’t matter whether it is damaged, in good condition, narrow or passes through the mountains. We have nothing against any country; we want to protect our interests,” he said.

According to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, Armenia exported approximately $96,500 worth of goods to Azerbaijan in 2026, with nearly all shipments recorded in September.

On September 24, Papoyan had confirmed exports of aluminum foil to Azerbaijan but did not disclose the volume of the shipments.
