Yesterday the Baku court sentenced another 16 opposition activists to various terms of imprisonment for participation in mass disorders in October 2003. As reported by Liberty radio station, earlier tens of people were sentenced in Azerbaijan due to similar indictments as well. It should be reminded that supporters of Musavat opposition party organized disturbances in Baku on October 15-16 as a sign of discontent with the defeat of their leader Isa Hambar at the presidential election.
