US PROUD OF PARTNERSHIP WITH ARMENIA IN COMBATING TERRORISM, US GENERAL STATED

The US is proud with the partnership with Armenia in struggle against terrorism, Director of Plans and Policy of the US European Command, Major-General Jeffrey Kohler stated in Yerevan today. In his words, Armenian servicemen will take part in the post-war reconstruction of Iraq in the near future. “At present, we are discussing the issue of deploying the Armenian combat engineers in Iraq” the General said. Touching upon the meeting in Yerevan, General Kohler reported that he discussed with the Armenian defense minister and the head of the general staff the problems of the Armenian-American cooperation. “We need time for the better understanding of the possibilities and needs of the Armenian Armed Forces”, the US Major-General stated.
