Fearing of immediate detention deputies of the Armenian National Assembly, namely National Unity leader Artashes Geghamian and Republic Party political council head Albert Bazeian do not consider it advisable to disclose their location. As A. Geghamian told Liberty broadcasting station, at present he is staying at his friends’ in Yerevan and due to “understandable reasons” does not define his location. “The matter concerns not the fear of the opposition leaders but the advisability of re-grouping the forces for further operations”, he said. Neither did A. Bazeian provide any information regarding his stay fearing to be arrested at once, “what would be undesirable”. The deputy noted that he is aware of the location of Republic Party leader Aram Z. Sargsian but he is not going to inform of it “in order not to impede the opposition activities”. The created situation should be analyzed in detail and further steps determined, Bazeian noted. Liberty broadcasted that at present the headquarters of the opposition parties are cordoned off by the police, documents are being taken out. The office of the Armenian People’s Party and the apartment of Justice bloc leader Stepan Demirchian have been also searched.
