ROBERT KOCHARIAN: ATTEMPT TO IMITATE GEORGIAN “ROSE REVOLUTION” IN ARMENIA TURNED INTO MISUNDERSTANDING

Armenian leader Robert Kocharian is sure that the republic needs strong presidential power and parliamentary opposition. “I am convinced that Armenia will still be in want of potent presidential power during many years”, he told in his interview to Izvestiya Russian newspaper. R. Kocharian holds the opinion that the opposition falling under the influence of the Georgian developments decided to project the same situation into the Armenian reality. “As a result now we have what we have. This is a misunderstanding because we cannot compare our reality to Georgia’s. And it undoubtedly bears temporary nature.”
