ARMENIAN OPPOSITION CEASED TALKS WITH AUTHORITIES

The talks between representatives of the opposition of Armenia and the political parties forming the ruling coalition were interrupted. As representative of Justice opposition bloc, deputy Victor Dallakian told journalists today, after the second round of political consultations, which had started April 26 evening, opposition representatives refused from further dialogue. As stated by V. Dallakian, 2 of the 10 demands, presented by the opposition, not being fulfilled by today served as the cause of that. Thus, in his words, today in the second reading the Parliament voted for passing the law on holding processions and rallies, which the opposition considers repressive. Besides, the deputy reported, roads from various regions to Yerevan are blocked due to the opposition meeting scheduled for today. “Under the current conditions, when the coalition does not display good will, the opposition does not now see an opportunity to continue the dialogue with the authorities,” Victor Dallakian said. It should be noted that the recurrent rally of the united opposition, demanding resignation of the authorities, started in the Liberty Square in Yerevan 4:30 p.m.
