The report on the Karabakh conflict, prepared by OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) President’s Special Representative Goran Lennmarker and verbally presented at the OSCE PA session the other day, can be ranked as a document of “good wishes for settlement of the Karabakh conflict.” Head of the Armenian delegation in the OSCE PA, Armenia’s National Assembly Vice-Speaker Vahan Hovhannisian told it to Arminfo news agency. He accentuated that the report does not mention the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan or return of Nagorno Karabakh, which has displeased the Azeri delegation. And it is very important, he stated. At that V. Hovhannisian noted the report language contained the expression “occupied territories,” however not indicating “which territories and who has occupied them.” “The expression “occupied territories” was used within the context of the need of mine clearing. I.e. the matter concerned the necessity of their liberation and mine clearing,” the Vice-Speaker explained. He reported that Goran Lennmarker had suggested to hold the next meeting of the Armenian and Azeri parliamentarians in Brussels in the autumn, after which he can present the final report on Nagorno Karabakh.
