PACE REPORT ON KARABAKH INCLUDES PROVISIONS NOT FAVORABLE FOR ARMENIAN PARTY, RA PARLIAMENT VICE-SPEAKER CONSIDERS

The document prepared by PACE Rapporteur on Nagorno Karabakh Terry Davis includes provisions disadvantageous for the Armenian party, head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE, National Assembly Vice-Speaker Tigran Torosian stated in Paris. Thereupon he emphasized that Armenia’s delegation to the PACE should make maximum efforts to ensure that when preparing the new document these provisions are withdrawn, while those reflecting the real state of affairs are included in the report. T. Torosian noted that in his speech at the sitting of the Political Committee he had proposed that the new Rapporteur David Atkins visit the region to acquaint himself with the situation, as well as meet with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. In the Vice-Speaker’s words, it can help providing for the impartiality of the new report. In his words, T. Davis’ report does not have a legal effect and is sent to the archive.
