ARMENIAN FM PRESENTED KARABAKH PROBLEM AT UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SITTING

Yesterday Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian delivered a speech at the 59-th session of the US General Assembly. As reported by the RA MFA press service, when touching upon the world developments, specifically the menace of spreading of the world terrorism, Vardan Oskanian emphasized that the success of the anti-terrorism struggle depends on the consolidation of the world community. He said Armenia is ready to join the struggle against international terrorism. On the same day the Armenian FM met with UN Secretary Kofi Annan to discuss Armenia-UN cooperation as well as the issues referring to the UN reforming. By request of UN Secretary General the Armenian Foreign Minister presented the process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. He also held meetings with Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General on Genocide Prevention Juan Mendez, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and Italian Deputy FM Alfredo Mantica.
