“We are at a stage of activation of the Bulgarian-Armenian relations; prerequisites for their active expansion are available,” Bulgarian President Georgy Parvanov stated in an exclusive interview with Armenpress news agency on the eve of his official visit to be paid to Armenia October 5-7. He said Bulgaria was ready to cooperate with Armenia within all international organizations and structures. At the same time he noted that the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries does not correspond to the political dialogue level. Having addressed the Nagorno Karabakh problem, G. Parvanov noted, “As OSCE chair country Bulgaria positively evaluates and supports the OSCE Minsk Group efforts and is ready to further contribute to Armenia and Azerbaijan in their attempts to find a mutually acceptable and durable solution of the problem.” At the present stage it is necessary to focus efforts on preventing the aggravation at “the contact line” and establishment of more constructive and productive dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Bulgarian President stated.
