US-ARMENIAN ECONOMIC GROUP CONVENED IN WASHINGTON

October 4 the recurrent 9-th sitting of the US-Armenian working group for economic issues was held in Washington. As reported by the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the Co-Chair of the group from the Armenian side was Minister of Finance and Economy Vardan Khachatrian. The agenda of the working discussions included questions of coordination of US assistance programs to Armenia and its further directions, taking into account the increased economic growth indicators and the poverty reduction strategy, improvement of the social conditions, working out programs for contribution within Millenium Challenge Account, strengthening the ability of fight against terror. It should be noted that October 2-3 the Armenian delegation also participated in the work of the annual congress of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
