KARABAKH SETTLEMENT PACKAGE OPTION – THE ONLY FOR LASTING PEACE AND STABILITY IN REGION

“The return of the territories and protraction of Nagorno Karabakh’s status determination, leaving it for the descendants to decide, is the most desirable option for the Azeri authorities at the moment”, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian stated in his interview with Public TV Company of Armenia when commenting on the Karabakh conflict settlement. It is a very dangerous approach, which cannot lead to the settlement of the problem, the Minister noted. We are aware that Azerbaijan will not resign struggle after getting some territories, the Armenian Fm stated. It is a transitional step, which can somehow alleviate tension in the region, but can by no means be the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, V. Oskanian said. According to him, the package variant can be a solution today. The Minister stated the package variant as the only approach for the long-term peace and stability in the region. Today our foreign policy is following this line and we think we will be able to follow it at the bargaining table”, Vardan Oskanian stated. To note, the Armenian FM said the information on the possible deployment of US military bases in the regions of Zangelan, Fizuli and Jebrail, which are under control of the Armenian party, is preposterous.
