KOCHARIAN AND SAAKASHVILI DISCUSSED “VERY CONCRETE ISSUES OF INTERACTION”

“We had a very efficient meeting and achieved mutual understanding on almost all the issues”, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili stated at yesterday’s joint briefing with Armenian President Robert Kocharian, who is in Tbilisi on a 3-day formal visit at present. In his turn the Armenian leader noted that though this visit to Georgia is not the first for him, “every visit is extremely important taking into account the heavy agenda, which had been worked out and widens with every passing year”. When commenting on the meeting of the two leaders R. Kocharian reported that “very concrete issues of our interaction have been discussed”. In his words, the principal stress was laid upon the issues referring to economy, transport, energy, legislation unification, customs relations and interaction of police structures. The Armenian President also pointed out that Yerevan realizes that the executive power in Georgia is keeping the situation under control thus making the forward movement of the country obvious”, and underscored that “it is favorable for us”.
