KARABAKH PRESIDENT: PROGRESS IN DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY FORMATION MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT

The most significant achievement of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic is the formation of democratic society, NKR President Arkady Ghukasian stated at the meeting with representatives of international political and expert circles. To note, the delegation, which visited Stepanakert within the frames of the joint mission of the German Marshall Fund and the Program of Transitive Democracies, was headed by President of the US Committee on NATO Bruce Jackson. In the course of the meeting A. Ghukasian noted that such visits offer the world community the opportunity to immediately familiarize with the situation in NKR and with the approaches to the problem settlement. The delegation members, among whom are NATO PA Vice-President Pierre Lellouche and former Spanish Foreign Minister Ana Palacio, also stressed the importance of such visits.
