Turkey’s accession to the European Union is favorable for Armenia, as if it is the case the country will have a common border with the EU, Armenian Assembly of America regional director in Armenia and the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Arpi Vardanian told “Arminfo” news agency. “I can hardly imagine that Turkey can become an EU member without recognition of the Armenian Genocide and opening the border with Armenia,” she noted, adding those two questions relating to Armenia should be solved. “How can the EU admit the accession of a country, which hold a blockade against a neighboring state?” she emphasized. In A. Vardanian’s words, on the other hand, the accession of Ankara to the EU is favorable for Armenia. Of course, other problems may emerge, but the availability of a common border with Europe is very advantageous, she noted.
